Troopers and family with blanket

Community service has become a large part of the LSTA’s mission. Projects to reach out to the youth of Louisiana, as well as to aid the elderly, have become a priority of LSTA’s activities. Following the devastation of hurricanes Rita and Katrina the LSTA received overwhelming support from law enforcement officers and other concerned citizens from across the state and the nation. In an effort to allow these generous citizens to take full benefit of their donations, the LSTA established the Louisiana Troopers Relief Fund, Inc in 2005. In 2007, the name was changed to Louisiana Troopers Charities.

Troopers and their families are not immune to personal tragedies such as fires, floods and health-related emergencies. Aid, both financial and personal, is provided to the Troopers when such help is needed.

The IRS has classified Louisiana Troopers Charities as a 501(c) (3) charitable organization and, as such, all contributions are fully tax-deductible. This will allow donors to support our community service projects through a tax-deductible donation to Louisiana Troopers Charities.
